Downtown/Oldtown Quito

Here are the photos I took of the trip to Old Downtown Quito yesterday. I got busted with one short video in the largest church since I didn't know I wasn't suppose to take photos. But in the other churches its okay.  I also will post some photos of some cards I bought that are a bit better. The photos don't really do justice for the experience.

Also there was a room that had some old bells but many of them got melted down to make guns to protect the church. Just so much history and beautiful artwork along with the religion. They had some paintings of heaven and hell. Hope they show up below.

All the videos are very short and have some info in the sound and will be at the end of the pictures.

I will also show some more photos of cards I bought since some are nicer then my photos.

The Eternal Fight!

One more Bull Fighting picture. They brought in the lawn mower! :)

Walking out to breakfast this morning I got more photos of the Bull Fight Stadium and a 9 second video of it. It was a long way to the top on the inside and being in Quito at high elevation I was sure out of breath but worth the view. I don't know if they have any plans for it now but it would sure make a huge swimming pool.  :)

Its been a while since I have posted on the blog but sorry just having to much fun. I am now in Quito and its really a great town but also much colder then the beach plus its raining a fair amount. It took me over a day to get here so it also took me a couple days to adjust to the loss of sleep on the trip plus being in a higher altitude took some adjustments in my body, but all fine now. I will add more photos soon but the ones below are of the old bull fighting stadium

. I think it would hold about 15000 people. Glad they outlawed it.

I will add some more photos of Quito and also some from Olon that I just didn't have the time or energy to upload until now. Should be better at keeping my blog updated in the future. 

Wiring up the town center!

This is a bit crazy but it all worked out good and not even injuries or deaths that I know about.

Church Service on New Years Eve

They have a new church in town and its not totally finished yet since they need the bells in the tower but did catch a short video of their service.

New Years Eve at town center dancing in costume. Not sure what the story is behind it all but it looks like they are having a good time. They are shooting off roman candles and lots of fire works inside the tent covered town center. Some of the guys dancing (they are all guys) are stepping on some glowing fireworks and so they are really dacin it up.

I was invited by my hotel family to go. They sort of adopted me. Really nice people here and have given me several invites in my stay.
